house House HOUSE!!!!!

So continuing on from the last blog, here is what happening on Sunday.

We (Chris, Glen, Sarah and I) went to a new housing area, which used to be a trailer park and they are turning into a lovely new subdivision. If you want to have a look online the area is at www.madisonplacewarnerrobins.com

It has big trees and they have 2 builders and their construction teams working there full time. They have built about 8 open homes that they had open for us to look around, and they all had different floor plans.

We walked around once and figured out which ones we liked the most, one of the realtors walked around with us, answering our million questions. She was very patient! heheh. Then we met her boss, Jacqui, who is the listing agent for the area. She went with us to our favourite houses, and answered more of our questions.

We went and looked at the lots they have available, then back to the houses again. We were getting really excited by this point. Jacqui recommended a local mortgage agent for us to talk to, then she called the builder of the houses we liked. He came over (on the Sunday of Labor Day long weekend), and he let us know what was doable for changes in the plans we like. We took some photos of the house we liked (I put them on here at the bottom), and the property.

So over the past two days we have started things going. They are building our house, we have picked our land. And they are starting soon......wow!! So exciting! We are set to be in by about February next year. Watch this space for progress pictures, and updates on the building.

Oh and I went to Lowes (like Mitre 10 for kiwis) with Chris and Glen yesterday. The boys wanted to get ideas for some things. So we spent 2 hours walking around looking at lights, taps, doors, floors, paint, and everything else you might put in a house! hehehe. We now have a squillion brochures and no idea what we want! hehehe. Luckily, when it gets to that point in the house we work with a designer.

Alrighty....I hope all is well for you all...enjoy the pictures!!

Note: we are extending the wood floors though the living room as well. And we won't be using those colours....
